A First Swim

On Memorial Day we went over to the Asay's to play with cousins and have a cookout. While there Dax sported his first swimsuit body and tried out the kiddy-pools.
He wasn't a big fan (especially of getting accidentally nailed with a water balloon by his Dad!), but sure looked adorable!

Gardening

Curtis and I have our own little garden in the back of our house. We started it last year and were surprised at what all we could get out of such a little space. After growing a variety of items last year, this year we narrowed it down to what grew well for us and what we actually like to eat! Growing, watering, weeding, harvesting and canning/freezing our fruits and vegetables is such a fun summertime project for us.
After work everyday Curt walks outside to pace around the garden and take note of how things are coming along. Unfortunately we have a new neighbor whose cat thinks that our garden is a giant kitty litter box- it is my favorite part of the evening watching Curtis' nightly chase of the cat away from his garden.

Cousin Mia

Dax's cousin, Mia, is a sweetheart. She LOVES to hold and kiss Dax. She will sit patiently and wait for her turn to love on Dax. When she holds him she will talk to him in her own little language, it is so precious to watch. Whenever he starts to fuss she is the first to tug on my leg and let me know and then will sneak over and just pat his head. I love watching them stare at each other, it is priceless.

A First Mother's Day

Today was my first real Mother's Day. It was beautiful! Dax and Curtis spoiled me all weekend. Dax made flowers with handprints on them for all the Moms in his life.
Dax and his Mama.
Dax, Curtis & Grandma Asay.
Dax and Nana Gibb.Curtis cooked for me all weekend. Including: made from scratch waffles with berries, Pizza Hut (not pictured), My Favorite Food in the whole world- Eggs Benedict (Mmm..), and Mexican themed dinner. It was ALL so great! Thanks boys for my great meals, Dax even sat ON the table with us!!I had such a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. I am so grateful to be a Mom. I feel like being a Mom is my soul's calling in life- I feel more like myself as a Mom then I ever did before. Being a Mother to this little guy is my life's greatest privilege. I am so proud to be a Woman. I love being a Wife, a Daughter, a Sister, an Aunt, a Woman and today.. a Mother. I had a beautiful day, topped off tonite with reading "Good Night Moon" to my son and rocking him to sleep, leaving the dishes in the sink, snuggling on the couch with my sweet husband, watching a movie and sharing Graeter's Mint ice cream right out of the carton.
Life couldn't be any better.

More Giggles

I caught some more giggles after a diaper change the other day (I only had my camera on me so sorry that the video couldn't be edited and is sideways!) It is so cute that he is figuring out how to laugh! (Please ignore the sounds that I have to make to extract the giggles!)
