Dragon Faces

Some of the Faces of our little Dragon...
Adorable Dragon
Sad Dragon
(Dax hated his costume when we took him to get his pictures taken).
Mad Dragon
(Did I mention he was hating his costume?)
Flying Dragon
(My Dax LOVES My Dad!)
Scary Dragon
(This is Dax's little friend Jack dressed up as Jack Jack Incredible. Last year his mom and I carved Pumpkins of a Monster and a Jack Jack pumpkin, click HERE to see what a difference a year makes!)
Sleepy Dragon
Silly Dragon
(Dax thought it was funny when we told the Trick or Treaters who came to the door that the Dragon was guarding the candy. He loved us opening the door to finds little groups of kids, he's a friendly little kid).

A Happy Halloween

For Halloween we had a Fairy Tale theme this year and dressed up like a Princess, a Knight in Shining Armor and a ferocious Dragon.
We went to Trunk or Treat the night before Halloween and got to see all of our in-town cousins dressed up, Great Grandpa dressed up as a Woman, Grandma, Grandpa and Nana handing out candy, all at one place- it was perfect!
Great Grandpa Asay. He was in heaven feeding so many children candy all at once, he usually just sneaks his grandkids candy one at a time.
The local Gibb Cousins; A Fireman, Lion and Football.
The local Asay Cousins; a Witch, Ninja, Butterfly and Pebbles and Bam Bam.
2010 Babies and Mamas- Dax, Kinley and Jaylee.

Trick but no Treat

Dax was enjoying a bounce in Johnny Jump Up, until...
He spotted "Half Man" (the bowl with legs that lovingly stores our Halloween Candy).
I had no idea he could lean and grab on to it. He was determined to get the candy out of it. Sorry Dax, better luck next year getting a treat. It was a good trick though.

Like Father Like Son

Sometimes, if I am lucky, Curtis will let me dress him and Dax alike.
I love Matching Sundays!

Secretariat

Today we took Dax to his first movie! Curtis had the afternoon off of school so we went to an early matinĂ©e and were the only ones in the theater, which was perfect for us! We took Dax to Secretariat and he absolutley loved watching all the horses. He sat on our lap and relaxed, took a cat-nap during the boring parts and rigorously rocked back and forth to the sound of the horses trotting (which proved to be much of the movie). He loves horses and loves to pretend he is riding a horse no matter if he on someone's lap, in a highchair or even during church! It was a great movie and Dax was wonderful.

9 Months

Dax at 9 Months
Height: 27 1/2 Inches
Weight: 17 lbs. 10 oz.
Head Circumference: 44.3 cm
9 Months seems like an important milestone. Dax has been out of my belly as long as he was in it, or about. I have to say that I enjoy him so much more out of my belly!
He is growing and learning right before our eyes. Everyday he is making us laugh with all the new tricks, sounds and mimics he is learning. I have been loving each new stage that Dax enters more than the last, but I don't know how life could get any more fun than with a 9 month old!

Corn Maze

Dax's first Corn Maze.
He was more interested in the corn than the maze...
even though the maze was really fun! Here we are at the bridge, trying to get our where-abouts.
It has been such a gorgeous Autumn and this day was no different. It was a perfect day to take stroll through nature holding hands as a family.
There was even a Pumpkin Patch! Dax convinced Daddy into bringing one home, just by pointing and grunting- he's pretty persuasive!
Turns out that our little 'pumkin' is the cutest, though.

Dax's 9 month Portraits

We have now had Nine Months of a love affair with this little man.

First "No"

This week Dax has a cold. He learned that by shaking his head "no" he can keep me from wiping his nose or effectively giving him medicine. He has also been using his new talent for keeping the spoon full of food he doesn't want out of his mouth. He is performing it cute here, but he can get his head whipping back and forth pretty fast when he needs to.
Also, highlighted in the video is Dax's new fetish of pointing and touching everything. He has started even just pointing at me and grunting when he wants picked up. Anytime I carry him anywhere all he does is point, point, point at all the things he doesn't remember touching IE: door knobs, light switches, blinds, mirrors, counters, walls, etc, etc, etc. Sometimes I find myself in peculiar postitions trying to let him touch what it is he wanted. The other day I was in the middle of my living room lifting Dax up as high as I could with his feet on my face because he really wanted to touch the ceiling fan. Even if his Mom wasn't so short, he wouldn't have been able to touch the vaulted ceiling's fan, but I love his interest in the world around him. It is so fun!

I'm sure in a couple years I'm not going to think that Dax telling us "no" is THIS adorable!

Stuck in Reverse

Dax isn't crawling yet, despite my encouragment and many demonstrations.
But he IS moving.. just backwards. He will see something in front of him and push himself backwards further away from it, this is proving frustrating for both of us. However if he is on tile or wood floors he can get going pretty far, just in reverse.
Sometimes he'll get some interesting places.
But most the time he just finds himself stuck somewhere that he literally did not see coming.

Picking Pumpkins

Dax and I took a little tractor ride out to pick some pumpkins and gourds.
