Dax's 2nd Birthday

Dax turned TWO!
This year Dax's birthday was on a holiday, which worked out great because Curtis had it off from work and school. We celebrated with all the Asays on Sunday night. Monday morning with our little family and on Monday night with the Gibb family. He was equally over-enthusiastic about blowing out candles and opening presents each time!
(Dax telling me he is 'twoooo').
Among other things, Dax got a potty seat. He wasn't sure what to do with it, but was excited all the same.
On Monday afternoon we went to a little local indoor waterpark. Dax loves to swim and loves and he had a great time (even though the water was much colder than we anticipated!)
Rockwell also loves water, but he and I only lasted in it about 15 minutes. And most the time we were there Dax played in the Hot Tub, which was okay with his Dad!

Our big boy. These two years has been so full of love and fun and excitement, with Dax around. We couldn't imagine not having him as our son or imagine loving him any more.
(With more than a little help from Papa, Dax got creative with his icing this year).
Happy Birthday, Dax!

Children's Museum

Over Christmas break we enjoyed a trip to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. Dax is at such a fun age, everything is exciting and new. We loved watching him explore and discover.
Rockwell and Daddy enjoyed the view.
Dax drove Rockwell around in a bucket for a while.
But he LOVED driving this big tractor, right up his alley.
We rode the merry-go-round and Dax picked out this Tiger. He growled at everyone as we went round and round.
Dax loves to turn lights on and off, PROOF: (he'll drag his chair around the house and turn lights and fans off and on, a new obsession.)
He went bonkers when he saw these giant switches within his reach. He would have stayed all day.
We explored the land of dinosaurs.
 And trains.
Dax had this face as he ran around following the train that ran across the ceiling. He was SO excited and created a crowd of people watching our adorable little man squeal and chase this train back and forth.
Checking the train out, up close.
One of our favorites this year was the 2 story slide.
It was a great family date.

New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve we celebrated both New Years and Christmas with Nana & Papa and our Gibb family.  We played the traditional Candy Bar Game.
And opened more presents (MORE? Where are they all going to fit??).
Dax and Jaylee got little backpacks, they were both pretty excited about them!
I was obviously very excited about this nail polish, I knew I was old when I had a favorite color of nail polish  and was devastated when they discontinued it, my mom special ordered it for a surprise- thank goodness for Amazon.
We munched on cheese and chocolate fondues with all the dippers.
But the best part of New Year's Eve was the parade Nana and Papa led all the grandkids in, with all the NOISE, NOISE, NOISE. They were so cute marching around tooting and clammering, it was fun to see them celebrate the New Year, before bedtime!

Once there was a Snowman

Once Dax had a snowman.
(Because he is a boy, as soon as we had the snowman done, Dax tried to push him down!)
It has been an-seasonably warm winter. In a matter of two days, this was all that was left of our Snowman.
In the sun our snowman, melted, melted melted... and then Dax splattered him with his foot.

Wagon

Dax & Rockwell got a wagon from Grandma & Grandpa for Christmas, even personalized with their names!
They have been trying it out inside, but are looking forward to some warmer weather!
