Dax and I went to a local Orchard and picked Strawberries with my little Sister and Mom. Dax, as usual, was more pleasant than I deserved and made for an enjoyable time.

I was committed to making picking strawberries with a Four month old work for me, I wish someone could have taken pictures of how ridiculous I must have looked. First, I tried to squeeze my jogging stroller in-between the mounded rows of strawberries, Fail. Then I decided I could hold Dax and pick, Fail. So I resorted to putting Dax in the Baby Bjorn having him face me and bending over to pick, Fail. So I turned Dax around and bent over to pick berries, Fail. Bending over wasn't working because poor Dax was basically upside down and would just grunt- it had to have been awful for him! So, instead of leaning over I knelt on the ground and crawled on my hands and knees holding Dax in the Bjorn with one hand and dragging my basket along and picking one handed with the other hand. I got quite a few berries this way- but I can't even imagine how it must have looked! Once my back started protesting I put Dax in his car seat and just tugged him along my row. As you can see.. we both enjoyed this best!

The three of us each ended up with a basket full of fresh strawberries.

We spent the afternoon; cleaning, sorting, slicing, blending, cooking, mixing, stirring and processing our berries. We have a freezer full of sliced strawberries, a pantry full of strawberry jam and a fridge full of fresh berries. It was well worth my strawberry-stained knees!

Yum!
Good times and he was a great sport... and yes a few poses were pretty funny :)
