Blessings

On Sunday, December 4th Rockwell Curtis Asay was blessed. It was a beautiful celebration for our family. There were so many components of Rockwell's blessing that made his day perfect.
Starting with this little boy, he is perfect. He is such a happy, laid back, sweet little guy. We have loved getting to know him, his sweet personality and welcoming him into our family. We are so blessed and thankful to have Rockwell in our family.

My boys both wore these booties (that I bought in Belgium as a teenager) and were held in this afghan (made by their Grandma Great) on their blessing day. They are both so special to me.

But, I wanted my boys to have their own special blessing outfits. Curt's Mom made Rockwell's blessing suit.  Rockwell looked so handsome.
Colette used buttons from Great Grandpa Asay's old dress shirts on Rockwell's suit, it was a tender touch that made his suit all the more precious to us.
Rockwell was blessed by his father. It was beautiful, some of what was blessed and said to Rockwell in his blessing:
-Remember that 'the things that are of most importance are those that last the longest'
- Blessed with a healthy mind and a healthy body
-Understand the love and strength of your family
-to have the desire and strength for a full-time mission, to help lift up others
-to be an example to your peers
-to find joy in serving the Lord
-Let your light shine forth
-Have a knowledge of the importance of a temple marriage to seal your family together
-enjoy the time you have in this life
-to be an example of Jesus Christ
In the blessing circle were Rockwell's father, both of his grandfathers, his great grandfather, 7 uncles and Bishop. It was a priesthood circle of men we love and respect. Men of strength and testimony circled our young man.
Rockwell shared his blessing day with his cousin, Rowynn, which made his day twice as special.
Two proud Daddys.

Our two little blessings.
We are so blessed to have so much family that were close enough to travel to the blessing.
All Rockwell's family on his special day.
Curtis with his parents, grandpa, brother, niece and son.
Nana & Papa with Dax & Rockwell.
Just like for Dax's blessing, we all gathered at Nana & Papas for a meal and celebration afterward. When Dax was blessed we had 4 cousins expected to be born after him, all within the next 6 months. We took this picture of Dax with all those pregnant women...
and here are 3 of those 4 cousins on the same couch 22 months later, four 1 year olds!
There is no equivalent to the blessing of peace and joy we have knowing that our little family is eternal. We are grateful for the restored gospel and to have the priesthood power on earth, to bless us and seal us together. We are so happy to be a family and so happy to have our little Rockwell in that family.

It's humbling to be the parents of these two little men. They are our lives greatest blessing and joy (and plus they are just so cute)!
We had a perfect blessing-day.
 We love you, Rockwell.
