Before we had kids Curtis always liked the song "Watching you" by Rodney Atkins about a little boy who watches the actions of his Dad. Dax, likewise, watches his Dad's every actions and loves to do whatever Dad does.
This morning I found Dax doing this.
He loves to literally walk around in Curtis' shoes.
On almost a daily basis Dax pulls the ties down from Curtis' tie rack and drapes them on himself. This day he walked around in Dad's shorts with the drawstring acting like a halter.
It's no secret that Curtis loves football and that his love has been passed on. Even though this football helmet weighs almost as much as Dax, he insists on wearing it a lot.
Dax even finds helmets to use in the bath.
This past week Curtis was mentioned in an article in our local paper (HERE) about his glory days as a High School Football Star (#24, hence Dax's back). We caught wind that his name was in the paper and since we don't receive the paper we did a search online with his name to see if we could find the article and the first hit we got was a link to where Curtis' name was mentioned as the father to a son born on 10/5/11 & 1/16/10. I smiled and Curtis just nodded, how Curtis does, and said the results were accurate- it was how he would like to be remembered.
